And I can spent it in my mind when I go on my “extravagant shopping”….
From $10, I add $50 and eventually my business grew and I carry $1000 note.
I never really spent that money but my confidence grew and I felt as if I can buy anything I desire…
And so one of the things I dared myself was to go to a jewellery shop in a posh district.
Normally, I won’t even glance let alone set an intention to “window-shop” or browse with the rich “tai-tais” (housewives?)….
But that particular day was special, I wanted to challenge myself and I went in…. “acting wealthy”…. in my simple t-shirt and jeans (I knew the richest are often the simplest dressers from my years as boutique sales person in my youth)
I looked at the sparkling diamond rings and I got enchanted by one…
It was calling out my name. I was drawn to it…
I sat there mesmerised … until the sales person came to me personally and ask-“Would you like to try it on?”
I said yes almost immediately.
And then as she insert the ring upon my ring finger, she said… “Currently we are having a major sale and the price has been discounted to $17,000.”
Suddenly my head began to spin, my fingers started to tremble.
I noticed it and calmed myself.
I smiled and said, “It’s ok, I’m just browsing through…”
She told me to take my time before giving the ring back to her. She then proceed to serve me with Chinese tea.
I sat there feeling as if I was one of the most beautiful girl with the most beautiful diamond ring on my finger.
My “deservability” of the best things in life increased greatly after that day…
And ever since that experience, I no longer trembled at the sight of big price tag or huge amount of money.
And even mingling with millionaires and successful entrepreneurs were no more a heart pounding affair (Because I used to feel so small as compared to them)…
