46th country is Finland

Finland is said to be one of the happiest country in the world.

And I thought they go about their daily lives in a merry way like elves working on Christmas, helping Santa deliver the presents to good kids of the world, singing, dancing and laughing through out.

but of course, there was no truth in that.

It was cold, wintry season unfolding to Spring. Remnants of snow stayed frozen in small hills around the city of Helsinki but no snow came from the sky. It was only 2 degrees celsius. and for Asian thin-skined woman like me who came about spontaneously, it was like staying in the frozen section of the refrigerator (not that I’ve tried putting my head in).

The country looked like any European cities of the world (but the buildings are amazing-looking!) and the people are nice. They speak good english (which meant I can understand easily) and yes they may looked unapproachable like the New Yorkers (in my experience) but they are truly nice and warm (cos I got lost a lot of times-thats my fun way of seeing a new place-disturbing the locals with directions)

I walked about the city visiting places of attractions in the wee hours of the morning. And unlike SIngapore (24 hours open), the city only wakes up afrom 10 am onwards.

The above is a church named Temppeliaukio Church built beautifully in a rock (admission is 3 euro). And it reminded me of my visits in  the holy city of Jerusalem.

That was only a small part of the city’s ingeniuty that potrays well in its modern designs and architecture.

Of course food is always something that I looked for in my many travels…. and their cinnamon buns are truly rich and delicious!! I love it!
